So this weeks post was meant to be about how much we are enjoying all of these sunny spring days and the abundance of outdoor activities on offer in our local area… Whilst the first week of the holidays have felt a little more like a return to winter, nature however dictates that better weather is on the way. So with that in mind we thought we would share some of our favourite outdoor activity ideas.

One of the easiest and most enjoyable things for many of us to do is to jump on the bikes and go for a ride. The kids love it, we get some exercise and fresh air and the kids use up a whole lot of energy.

We are so lucky to have many great bike tracks in and around Camberwell, that can easily keep you within 5 kilometers of home (depending on where you live of course) and still give you a good long ride. Boroondara City Council have put together a fantastic cycling trail map that you can download here.

A lot of talk between parents up at the local park recently seems to be about the reopening of pools. The local pool can keep the kids entertained for hours on end so we have been doing a bit of research and the latest information we have found indicates that outdoor pools are due to reopen this coming Wednesday 30 September.

As we know our local playgrounds have now reopened and with over 100 playgrounds in the Boroondara area there are options galore for the kids to get out and have some fun. Boroondara Council has an interactive map on their website that lists all the parks in the area along with their facilities and amenities.

We hope this gives you some great ideas for getting outside with the kids.
